MY TAKE ON THE PARK

Sports complexes always made sense to me. if you are going to
build two stadiums might as well share the parking lot with the other.
The Jacksonville Suns share the lot with the Jacksonville Jaguars
giving the Suns a nice backdrop to their park.

Easy to find, just follow the signs to the Jaguars stadium, it
has been through a few name changes so I don't want to commit.
At the park $5 will gain access to either the Stadium lot or
the garage next to the park. Being Florida and with rain always threatening, I chose the garage.

Once inside, either walk up the stairs to the concourse or take
a stroll out under the park to the LF General Admission seating.
Once to the concourse area, you find a beautiful field with a
diverse backdrop.
Down the right field line the Stadium.

Towards center field the bridge.

Down the left field line a church

All of this with a beach and playground in straight away center.
As for the game, here it is handled in an old style manner. The
scoreboard doesn't' do much, just the line score and the picture of the batter. The field is perfect, with the heat and excessive
rain, it is a different problem than the grounds keepers have in the north and midwest.

I found ticket prices here a little higher than most. However,
the seats are extremely comfortable, so I didn't mind the extra cost. Concession items are on the lower side here though,
I guess either way you are going to pay for something.

The Baseball Grounds at Jacksonville is a good place to see a
game. Between innings you will find yourself looking around at the scenery of Jacksonville.
Also walking around the park will be girls in Suns uniforms called
"Sun Beams." They keep the promotions going and sell 50/50 chances throughout the game.
One final note about the Suns. Another team family owned where
the owner is at the park nightly and rings his bell after a Suns win. Something about that just makes a night in Jacksonville
one I look forward to returning to.
